What exactly is a gauge card?
A single printed sheet listing the measured specification of every club you own or every club we build for you. Playing length, loft, lie, shaft mass, frequency, grip model and build-up, swingweight, and the date each reading was taken. You keep one copy, we file the other under your name. It is the reference point for every conversation you have about equipment afterwards, here or anywhere else.
Do I have to buy clubs from you afterwards?
No. The fitting fee covers the session and the card, and those are yours regardless. A fair number of visitors leave with a bend, a re-grip and a plan to shop elsewhere, and that is a legitimate outcome. We charge separately for exactly this reason.
I am sixty-eight and losing distance. Is fitting worth it at my age?
It is arguably worth more at sixty-eight than at thirty-eight. The specs that suited you at full speed actively work against you once the swing shortens: total mass gets heavy, the shaft stops loading, and the ball stops climbing. Lightening a set and shortening it slightly recovers carry that no amount of practice will. This is the single most common reason people walk through our door.
My daughter is eleven and growing fast. Is it too early?
Eleven is a good time to size properly, but not to buy a permanent set. We fit juniors from a cut-down chassis so length and weight can be adjusted as they grow, usually once a year. Sunday mornings are held for junior sizing and a re-size after a growth spurt costs a fraction of the original session.
Are women's clubs actually different, or is that marketing?
Both, unfortunately. Real differences exist in typical length, grip diameter and total mass, and those should be measured rather than assumed. What is marketing is the idea that "ladies flex" is a specification. It has no agreed definition between manufacturers and tells you nothing about frequency or mass. We measure speed and set weight accordingly, which sometimes lands a woman on a heavier shaft than the box would have sold her.
How long does a session take?
A single-club session runs about seventy-five minutes. Irons take ninety. A full bag with putter is two and a half to three hours and we usually split it across two visits so nobody is swinging tired at the end. Quick gauge checks without an appointment take ten minutes if the bay is free.
What should I bring?
The clubs you actually play, including the ones you are unsure about, plus the shoes you wear on the course. Shoes change your posture more than people expect and lie readings taken in trainers are worth less. If you have an old card from us, bring that too.
Do you use a launch monitor?
There is one in the bay and we use it for ball speed and carry comparisons. We do not build sessions around it. Face tape, lie board marks and the bending machine tell us more about fit than a spin number does, and they cost nothing to read. Anyone selling you a fitting on the strength of the screen alone is selling you the screen.
How often should I come back?
Adults playing a normal Tulsa season: once every twelve to eighteen months for a lie and loft check, roughly every eighteen months for grips. Juniors: after any noticeable growth, so realistically once a year until they stop. Everyone gets a suggested date written on their card.
Can you work on clubs I did not buy here?
Yes, and most of what crosses the bench falls into that category. Bending, re-shafting, re-gripping, length changes and swingweight adjustment are all charged per club at the rates listed on our pricing page.
Do you fit left-handed golfers?
Yes. The lie board, the bending machine and the component wall all handle left-handed clubs, and roughly one in eight sessions here is a left-hander. Test heads in left-handed configurations are more limited on the wall, so mention it when booking and we will pull stock in advance.
Is there parking?
Twelve free spaces behind the building. Turn in at the tyre shop entrance rather than trying to stop on Sheridan, and follow the lane around to the rear lot.
Ask Before You Book, Not After
Nobody here works on commission, so a phone call that ends in "you do not need us yet" is a perfectly normal outcome.
